Three women in a dark room with a large window showing the full moon, surrounded by mist or smoke, engaged in a ritual with drums and branches.

WHAT’S IS A ritual SAUNA?

We can sit in a sauna and chat a bit and sweat a bit and relax.

Or we can use the power of ceremony to transform the sauna into a ritual space for deep release and integration.

Our ceremonial saunas are unique and powerful experiences.

These spaces are akin to the Sweat Lodges or Inipis in that they are sacred spaces held for purification, connecting with spirit, connecting more deeply with ourselves. However, our spaces do not follow these indigenous traditions - they are something we have created ourselves in the sauna space - they are soft, feminine spaces held by drumming and singing and the support of sisters and the womb matrix we create when we gather together.

Sarah uses an old sauna tradition of whisking to support the sauna–bundles of branches and herbs are utilised to facilitate the movement of steam and energy in the sauna they are also applied to the body in forms of massage and compresses for deep physical and emotional release
